Recipients of income assistance, disability assistance, and hardship assistance who have no shelter costs (i.e. homeless) will now be eligible to receive $75 as part of the Shelter portion of the benefit. This will automatically be adjusted for any eligible recipients and does not need to be applied for.
Policy and rate tables have been updated to clarify the implementation of a minimum shelter allowance for income assistance, disability assistance, and hardship assistance recipients. Recipients receiving a comforts allowance are not eligible for the minimum shelter allowance.
